GPhC managing concerns about pharmacy professionals: our strategy for change 2021-26

Our strategy outlines how we will take action to protect patients when needed, while at the same time promoting and encouraging a learning culture that allows pharmacy professionals to deal with any concerns and go back to practising in appropriate circumstances.

We have a responsibility to make sure that our fitness to practise work remains relevant and that we continue to deliver our main objective of protecting the public.

We want to move away from a process which can be adversarial and slow, and can have an unintended adverse impact on the people involved. Instead, we want to take quick action to protect patients when that is needed, while at the same time promoting and encouraging a learning culture that allows pharmacy professionals to deal with any concerns and go back to practising in appropriate circumstances.

This strategy will build on improvements we’ve already made to the way we manage concerns
