Last year, we hosted a wide-ranging discussion about how racism manifests and affects pharmacy professionals and how this can have a resulting impact on patient care. In this further session, and as part of our follow-up commitments, we focused on accountability and Fitness to Practise, specifically how regulators can tackle over-representation of certain groups in regulatory processes and learn from others about how they have approached this.
This new series of equality focused roundtables and events is designed to shape our regulatory work, informed by the experiences of our stakeholders. This links directly to the commitments in our strategy to help tackle the different types of discrimination within pharmacy and to support an open and inclusive culture where pharmacy teams are empowered to meet their professional and legal obligations.
