Each year, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians must record what they have done to keep their knowledge and skills up to date and reflect on how they have put this into practice. They must make a set of declarations and pay a fee to renew their registration.

Revalidation is a requirement that every pharmacy professional needs to do each year to be able to renew their registration and continue to practise. It’s a process that involves reflecting on your work and striving to continually develop. It’s one of the ways that we work with you to strengthen public confidence in pharmacy.
How revalidation helps me
What activities do I need to do?
Full revalidation requirements include providing:
- four continuing professional development (CPD) records
- one peer discussion record
- one reflective account record.
What happens if I don't renew?
If you don’t renew, you’ll be removed from the register and won’t be able to practice. You’ll need to restore your entry to the register before you’re able to practise again.
