Continuing professional development

The GPhC has a statutory duty to ensure that pharmacy professionals practise safely and effectively. The requirements that we have put in place for continuing professional development (CPD) enable pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to demonstrate that they keep their knowledge and skills up to date in order to maintain and improve their practice.

CPD standards
All pharmacy professionals who are registered with us must meet the standards we have set for CPD.
CPD framework
The CPD framework sets out in detail the GPhC’s requirements for undertaking and recording CPD, including the format and assessment criteria.
Rules for CPD
The CPD rules describe how the GPhC will enforce the requirements of the CPD framework.
